Landscape Construction
Landscape construction transforms design plans into functional outdoor environments through the installation of landscape, irrigation, drainage, hardscape, and related site improvements. As a Landscape Design and Arborist Consultant in Los Angeles, CA, Foregrounds Landscape provides construction services that support the successful installation of proposed landscape improvements.

SITE PREPARATION & DEMOLITION
Landscape construction projects often begin with site preparation activities. Existing landscape features, hardscape elements, vegetation, grading conditions, and site constraints are evaluated to help coordinate demolition, site access, material removal, and preparation for landscape construction.
PLANTING & LANDSCAPE INSTALLATION
Planting and landscape installation may include native plants, shrubs, drought-tolerant species, groundcovers, ornamental grasses, trees, and other landscape materials selected to support the overall design objectives of the property. Plant material is selected to align with the desired aesthetic while also considering plant availability, climate, soil conditions, irrigation systems, and maintenance requirements.
SOD, SEED, & ARTIFICIAL TURF INSTALLATION
Sod, seed, and artificial turf installation takes into consideration grading, drainage, soil preparation, irrigation planning, base preparation, and transitions between surrounding landscape features. Our installation approach coordinates these elements to help create functional outdoor spaces that complement the overall landscape design and intended use of the property.
IRRIGATION & DRAINAGE INSTALLATION
Landscape construction may include the installation of irrigation and drainage systems to help coordinate water distribution, plant establishment, runoff management, and site drainage throughout the property. Irrigation coverage, drainage patterns, grading conditions, and the relationship between landscape and hardscape elements are considered during installation to support long-term landscape performance.
For more information, visit our Irrigation and Drainage pages.
HARDSCAPE CONSTRUCTION
Hardscape improvements may include walkways, patios, concrete pavers, flagstone, retaining walls, decorative features, decks, pergolas, fences, gates, privacy screens, water features, outdoor gathering spaces, and other constructed elements intended to support the functionality and aesthetics. Construction approaches depend on site conditions, project objectives, and material selection.
OUTDOOR LIGHTING INSTALLATION
Outdoor lighting systems may be incorporated to enhance aesthetics, improve visibility, support functionality, and highlight landscape or architectural features. Lighting approaches should be compatible with the overall design and intended use of the property.

TREE & SITE CONSIDERATIONS
Existing trees, root zones, mature canopy growth, utilities, and other site features may influence construction planning and installation activities. Thoughtful coordination between construction activities and existing site conditions can help support long-term landscape performance and reduce potential conflicts.
Where trees are present, consultation with an ISA Certified Arborist before construction begins may help identify tree protection considerations and potential construction conflicts. Construction activities that affect roots, trunks, or canopy structures may result in injury to trees and, in some cases, contribute to future health, stability, or risk-related concerns. Certified Arborist monitoring during construction may be appropriate depending on site conditions and project scope.
